Graduate Student Awarded 2022 Chancellor-Provost's Graduate Student Leadership Award

Sonal Gahlawat, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering, has been awarded the 2022 Chancellor-Provost's Graduate Student Leadership Award. This award is given to a graduate student who exemplifies excellence and truly embodies a commitment to leadership and involvement on campus and/or in the community.

Through her leadership with the Biomedical Engineering Student Society (BESS) and the Graduate Student Association (GSA), for which she recently completed a term as President, Sonal has left a positive and lasting impression on the community through initiating, leading or supporting projects of activism or advocacy for social justice, inclusion, and diversity in unique and innovative ways.
