TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION
RUTGERS, THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW JERSEY
Description: The Center for Innovative Ventures of Emerging Technologies (CIVET) in collaboration with the Departments of the Rutgers School of Engineering seeks to hire 1 young academic investigator during the 2009-2010 academic year. We are searching for a dynamic individual who is capable of conducting a nationally recognized externally funded basic and applied research program who is also interested in academic commercialization activities. Candidates with expertise in any high technology field are encouraged to apply: including but not limited to: alternative energy, medical devices and diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and biologics, advanced materials, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals, and information technology. The successful candidate will join a talented and dynamic group of faculty and staff, who are working to foster the theme of Engineering, Science, and Business on a University-wide basis. The successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized, independent, and well-funded research program, while contributing to the commercialization “space”.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in engineering or a related field. Outstanding graduate students nearing degree completion, postdoctoral fellows, and current faculty members are invited to apply. Interested applicants should submit an extended CV, a statement briefly outlining career plans, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching interests, 3 selected reprints of recent papers, and names and full contact information of five references by December 15, 2009. Consideration and interviews of candidates will begin in January 2010 and will be completed by May 2010.
